Chase slowly strolled about through the Spirit Forest, a place he really felt he could belong. Chase wasn't really one for being out and about with people, so the natural world was like his comfort zone. Wild and always full of mystery, a place Chase loved. The creatures always so interesting. He was definitely a nature type of guy, one to go camping and hiking rather than kill time gaming inside. It was his love of nature that drove his desire to explore the world and learn what he could. He had his small sketchbook with him, filled with realistic drawings of animals he has spotted by far. Their names listed in neat cursive and in parenthesis under the name was the scientific name of said animal. Chase always recorded it when he saw something new. He loved almost all creatures. Only slimy and wriggly bugs were on his list of things he disliked. He was terribly creeped out by them and hated touching them so much. With a sigh he sat down on a fallen tree, looking up and spotting a bird. He pulled out his sketchbook, starting to draw the bird. It was a crow, a Fisher Crow to be exact. Crows were actually an incredibly intelligent species. Soon enough he had it down, and so just sat and watched it. It looked like the bird was in a nest, it had babies. That was amazing!

He didn’t know why he was in the forest; he wasn’t the type to go to places like this. He was just bored and happened to cross its path and decided “what the heck”. Now that he was walking through the forest though, he wasn’t exactly sure what to do. It was a nice site and there was some interesting animals (he loved animals of all kinds) but he wasn’t the kind of person to like to be alone for extended period of times. He liked to be surrounded by people. Being alone with his thoughts…and his memories…he didn’t like it. He knew he was just running away from the problems. He pushed others to be the best that they could be, while he watched from the distance being stuck in the same place. He was just a hypocrite. That’s all he was.
Hiroki looked up and soon noticed a boy sitting down on a tree a few feet away. Hiroki shifted his weight and watched for a few minutes before he slowly walked up to the boy. It was then when he noticed he was drawing some kind of bird. Hiroki (not realizing that he was sneaking up on the poor boy) leaned closer and admired the drawing. He was not artistic at all, but he liked to see other people’s drawings, it was amazing how with a simple pencil and a piece of paper you could draw something very beautiful. Hiroki was always that type of person. He liked to look for the good of other people, not caring if anyone really truly notices him.
“Hey! That is pretty neat!” Hiroki finally spoke up, still watching the boy draw.

Hiroki TakashiChase took no notice of another presence as he drew, he was nearly done too. Just some shading as he let his eyes leave the crow. He got what he needed, so there was no use having to keep looking at it. So when he suddenly heard a voice behind him he yelped in surprise, jumping slightly until he turned to see who it was. He finally calmed himself but was very nervous too. Chase of course was nowhere near social in any mannerism. So being confronted or spoken to made him rather nervous overall. Which was not too fun for him frankly. He was just incredibly shy, and often took a while to get used to people. It just was how he was. Chase never had been too outgoing or anything and often did his best to avoid any and all social contact. "Uhm... Thanks..." He said softly I'm response. He had received a compliment, so it would be rude to not say anything back.

“uh, sorry!” Hiroki quickly said as he threw up his hands when he realized he had scared him. That wasn’t his intention at all. Sometimes he was a little bit of a klutz and didn’t focus on what was around him. He let out a little laugh as he rubbed the back of his neck. He did this kind of things all the time, even more so when he was hungry, which was almost all the time. “I wasn’t expecting to see anyone here and sometimes I get a little carried away.” He continued to rant on, but he stopped when he realized he probably sound really weird. He sighed as he stood all the way up and looked at the boy. He didn’t recognize him. Was he new around here? Did he go to the same school? He didn’t know.
“I’m being honest though, you’re pretty good…but I can’t draw to save the life for me, so I guess it’s not really much of a compliment coming from someone like me.” He spoke with a smile. He liked to watch other people doing what they loved. It made him a little jealous though. He didn’t really have any talents or anything that made him stand out except that he was overly friendly. He really didn’t think so much about himself. He honestly didn’t know why people seemed to like him.
“I’m Takashi Hiroki, but you can call me Hiroki.” He told him.

Hiroki TakashiChase listened to the boy speaking, just nodding nervously in response. He wasn't sure what to even do frankly. So his only option was to just sot there and look like it wasn't that big of a deal. Well, considering it indeed wasn't that big of a deal in most aspects. So he just stayed silent. He eventually introduced himself as Hiroki after a nice bit of rambling. Chase nodded politely. "Thanks... I'm Chase..." He said softly. Otherwise there wasn't going to be too much coming out of his mouth right then. He bit his lip nervously and really was at a loss for what he could even do. Maybe just finish up and do other things perhaps? Maybe.
Chase looked to Hiroki, sending a seemingly carefree air about the boy. That ended up allowing Chase to relax just a bit and not have a major heart attack or anything. Luckily. He always was so nervous in social situations of any sort. Frankly he knew nothing of what to do in regards to meeting people. Mostly anyways. He of course knew more basic things like say hello or shake hands, but not how to continue conversation or anything similar. He was at a loss right then and there.

It seemed like the boy was shy just by the way he was asking. Hiroki hoped he wasn’t being rude and bugging him. “Ah sorry, if I’m bugging you or anything, I just happened to be walking through the forest…do you come here a lot?” He asked him. He felt like this was the boy’s – Chase’s- special spot or something along the others. He could be wrong though, but it was just a feeling that Hiroki got that was all. He shifted his weight a little, not exactly sure what to say or do at the moment. The boy wasn’t very talkative and seemed a little uneasy with his presence. Hiroki was a people person and liked to talk to people, but he didn’t like to step on other’s toes and didn’t like to push people into doing something that they weren’t comfortable with.
“If you want…I can just leave,” Hiroki told him as he pointed toward the way he came, “I don’t want to bother you when you’re drawing or anything like that. Sometimes I can overstay my welcome.” He said with a slight laugh. Although he acted this way now, he knew how it felt to be shy and out or sorts with things. He was like that, of course that was a long time ago and he had someone come and bring him from that world and into the world that he was living in now. He was ever so grateful for that person. He wondered if he would ever meet her again. He was sure she must be a wonderful person now; he could barely remember what she looked like. Only her name.
“Unless you would like some company.”

Hiroki TakashiChase stayed put for a bit and listened to what Hiroki has to say. At the question on if he came a lot Chase nodded in response. He loved it here naturally. Chase just was more of a nature guy instead of a socialite of the sorts. He would rather be able to just take things easy and be with animals. He already had a dog at home who he would often be seen walking. Hence why Chase was so physically fit in general. Walking for a few hours a say really helped in getting some exercise. Plus Chase often ate healthy, so that was another factor into it all. He was glad that he was at a good weight though. It really made life much better for him.
When Hiroki said he could always leave Chase shook his head. Then at the proposal of company Chase then nodded with a small smile. He could try and get used to it all at least. So perhaps this outgoing young man would be good for Chase to be around. Help him learn more social skills and cues. Chase really needed that. He was very inadept in regards to such things. Still, Chase tried his best when he could. Sometimes it just didn't seem to be enough.
