Yuu usually wears a yukata when she goes to her part-time job during weekends. This was to make the customers feel more relaxed with the ambiance the traditional yukata brings. Sadly, today the inn has to close down for a day because the owner's daughter will be coming home from a trip and that the whole place was reserved for a private celebration. She was not informed beforehand thus, here she was, loitering at the shrine where she decided to drop by for a prayer before heading home. There had been numerous sightings of wandering spirits at the shrine so no one dared to visit the place during normal days. A warning sign was also posted at the entrance. She had been warned but she wasn't really scared or any. Not because she was brave, but just because she has no idea what she's dealing with. Perhaps, also because she haven't heard the stories.

"What do you really want, Yuu?" she sighed as she found herself in front of the huge bell. Yuu's hands reached for the long and old rope that was connected to the bell. She rang the bell and clapped her hands twice after saying her prayers and finally, took a bow. "Kami-sama, I want to gain new friends!" she said out loud from the bottom of her heart. Yes, she met Hiroki but she was not sure if he wanted to be her friend. She wanted someone she could talk to everytime she wanted to. She wanted someone she can depend. She wanted someone just to be there for her when she needed one. She was starting to get lonely from parting away from her family but Yuu was stubborn enough to accept that. And now here she was, longing for someone she could depend on. 

Once more, a long sigh escaped her lips. Hoping if the spirits or gods would ever listen to her prayers. As she turned around, Yuu's ocean blue eyes laid on a rather odd looking cat. She rubbed her eyes a few times but the image did not disappear. "Ahh! What a huge cat!" she shouted out of surprise as she rushed towards near it to have a closer look.

Yuu Asaka
That day Chase had ended up concluding that he would go out and just hang around. Really he just wanted to find a nice place to relax. So despite the warning he had heard Chase headed to the shrine. Not as a human though, but as a massive Maine Coon. His thick black fur made for cold weather and his paws had thick fur between the toes that acted as snow shoes. His ears had a trait prized in cats worldwide known as lynx tufts. They were a common and popular thing in the Maine Coon. He eventually found place nearby the shrine on a small stone tablet. There he ended up falling asleep, sprawled out comfortably. He ended up noticing somebody arrive though. He ignored the fact, figuring they would just do whatever then be on their way to do whatever their merry little lives wanted them to. Meanwhile he just napped peacefully without a care. He was more than set just sticking around and snoozing the day away.

He heard the person, a girl, make a prayer. A bell rang and hands clapped twice. That wasn't the issue though. It was when she exclaimed there was such a big cat. He looked up and yawned. Standing up he stretched out and shook his fur. Then he walked over to the girl, rubbing his check against her leg and purred. Despite popular belief the cheek rubbing is actually a way to mark territory as scent glands can be found on the cheeks. Purring was still an affectionate gesture though. He moved back and sat in front of her. He looked up at her, with those adorable kitty eyes, pupils round and huge. His tail flickered at the tip in interest. He would accompany her. Everything was much easier for Chase as an animal it seemed when it came to social related activities.

Yuu moved closer to the huge cat. He has a gorgeous black coat and ears that were not common in smaller cats. She was clueless if he was part of some special breed as Yuu, even if she wanted to, did not get any chance in taking home a pet. She gently approached the creature as she did not want to scare him away. "Here, nekochan" Yuu called out with a gentle smile on her face as she got nearer. Surprisingly, the cat answered her call and walked over to her rubbing his cheek against her leg as it purred. Yuu was a bit surprised since normally; pets would move away or ignore her as if they hated her. Then he moved back and sat as those adorable huge green eyes looked up to hers. It literally melted Yuu's heart as she falls onto her knees while her shaky hands reached for his beautiful fluffy coat.

"Uwaahhh... You're not scared?" Yuu asked as she brushed her hand from his head to his body. It felt like she was in heaven or something similar maybe while doing so. His coat was really fluffy and Yuu was unconsciously brushing her hand against his coat gently. "Say.. What are you doing here? Are you lost?" she asked once more as if this cat can talk and answer Yuu back. "Teehee~ I wonder if you have an owner" Yuu went on with her babbling as she started to look for a collar. Since most pet owner place a collar to their pets with the pet's name and owner's address written on it in case the pet got lost. But this cat doesn't seem to have one. Yuu raised her head as her ocean-blue orbs scanned the area, in hope to see anyone that appears to be his owner. However, there was no one else in there. Just the two of them.

Looking back to the cat, Yuu continued talking to him. "Neko-chan, do you have a name? Do you want to be my friend?" She wasn't expecting an answer really, but it was so easy for her to talk to a non-human creature. Of course, since she was aware that these animals were honest about themselves. That they would easily ran away if they don't like her or otherwise. Unlike humans, it was so hard to read what's going on in their mind.

Yuu Asaka
Chase yawned and then against rubbed up to her with a meow. He eventually nudged her with his nose cheerfully. Then he began to walk away. He looked back at her, as if to see if she was going to follow. Though in reality he was hoping she wouldn't. It looked like he was expecting her to come though. Still, with a whisk of his thick plume of a tail he walked off and tried to find a place that was out of sight. Best to not get caught in the act. Though if the girl had indeed followed him she would get to see a shocking surprise if she wasn't used to it.

In a swirling light the black cat was soon replaced by a young man. Good thing his clothes stayed on during transformation. He sighed and ran his hand through his black hair. Sleek and thick, falling just to his shoulders. It gave him a "pretty boy" kind of look along with his skinny body and vibrant green eyes. Well, he figured now he best go.

"A-re? Neko-chan, where are you off to?" Yuu suddenly asked as she watched the huge cat walked away from her. "Leaving so soon?" she added with a sad look on her eyes. She thought that for the first time she'd be having one animal friend, someone who wouldn't run away from her. The huge cat looked back at her though, as if wanting her to follow wherever he wished to go. It's either that, or she was being selfish, not letting the sweet creature go. Her heart beats faster as she stood up. "Would you like me to come?" she asked the cat as she watched him go. With her yukata, it was hard for her to run or even walk faster, but she tried her best not to loose him in sight.

Good thing she caught up with him as she felt relieved. "Why are you...." Yuu paused as her eyes witnessed a sudden swirling light covered the huge cat. In an instant, the cat was replaced by a young man. Yes, a human. The cat transformed into a human. Yuu's brain was processing that one slowly. "N-neko-chan" softly escaped her lips and not too soon...

"Kyaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!" she shouted as her brain fully processed what she had witnessed. Her limbs were shaking causing her to fall down to the ground, her hands instantly covered her mouth as she was kinda hoping that the cat, human or whatever he was, was not aware that she saw everything!

Chase had been sure that the girl had not followed. So when he turned to a scream he staggered back a bit, unsure of what to do. She was absolutely shocked that he was in fact not a cat. The scream had really caught him off guard and he didn't know what to do. When she fell he hesitated before walking over to her. He tentatively held out a hand. "I... I better... Explain..." He said in a soft, gentle tone. He had never been a speaker, but his tone had always maintained a soothing way about it. It was quite nice to many that met him.

Chase stayed put, shaking slightly at the fact he was being so brave. Normally he would never have offered to help her up or anything. But he needed to keep his secret safe. There was no need to let her run off and tell everybody that he was a Henko. That would not be so fun. His parents said to keep it a secret, but now he couldn't. This girl had caught him during a transformation. If she chose to stay and let him explain then that would be good. If not, then he may have to kill her. Yes it sounded harsh, but it was the only way to keep his secret safe. If not kill, then at least try and cause amnesia. He normally was nowhere near violent by nature, but sometimes if desperation was the cause then he would do anything to keep his secret, and little sister Cassidy, safe.

Chase's brilliant green eyes peered to the girl, trying to meet her's to show how scared he felt himself. How much he wanted to let her know, for her not to run and give his secret away. Most humans would easily try to sell him and his family out for money. He couldn't risk this, and would need to be careful with what he said and did. Though maybe, just maybe this girl would keep things a secret. Though never fully sure, Chase was still quite wary of her.

It was too late. Her scream was too loud to be unnoticed by him and now, he was walking towards her. Witnessing such transformation froze her body which didn't allow her to move. Yuu's teary eyes locked into this human or cat, or whatever. Her heart was pounding inside her chest as if to explode. "Is he a demon? Will he kill me? Or eat me? Because of what I saw?" Yuu's thoughts ran in her head spontaneously thinking of a logical explanation of the situation she's currently into. Her arm moved instinctively, as the young man held out his hand, in a defensive way, protecting herself. She thought that she was dead for a moment until she heard his soft and gentle voice. Her azure eyes peeked behind her arm and she saw that the hand was there to help her get up. "E-e-explain?" her tone was tainted with fear as it was shaking no matter how hard she tries not to.

Yuu, looked at the young man's slender hand which was waiting for her to reach. At the back of her head, she is hesitating to grab it. What will happen if she reached for it? What will happen if she doesn't? All these questions will remain unanswered if she does not make her choice sooner. Her teary ocean blue eyes met with his green orbs and was enchanted by them. He sure was that sweet cat she met earlier. Could that sweet cat be a demon afterall who wanted harm befall onto her? No. She denied that idea. Still shaking though, Yuu slowly reached for his hand. Cold. Yes her hand was cold, but so was his. Was he shaking too? Was he afraid too? "I-I am s-sorry, n-nekochan. I-I didn't m-mean t-to" Yuu said still with her shaking voice.

Chase sighed and waited for a bit until she was a bit more relaxed. When he felt her hand meet his he blushed slightly, having never made contact with girls. Besides his mom and Cass. he sighed and with a light tug he did his best to help her to her feet with a sweet, but very nervous smile. "I ah... I am a Henko... Like a shapeshifter..." He started awkwardly. "I can become animals at will. But I was supposed to keep it secret. To protect my family." He stated. "I am not sure if you will tell or not, but I can't let that happen. I need to keep Cassidy, my little sister, safe." He stated, now solemnly. Otherwise he didn't have much else to say. "So please... Don't tell anybody." He begged for a bit until finally he turned. Best be going.

He took a shaky breath and thought about this. He was just letting her go free and didn't even get her word. So what was going to happen. Well, if she did, then he would know he should have killed her. Though truthfully he didn't have the heart to do so. He slowly took a few staggering steps, shaken up from the whole experience and fearful too. For his family, more than himself. He didn't want them hurt, especially Cass. She was incredibly important to him. He loved his sister dearly, and would do anything to keep her safe from harm. Even if he had to die, he knew he would do his best. Still, regrets and doubt lingered deep in his mind, he had unconsciously stopped now and stood only a few feet from the girl with his back turned to her. Shaking.

With a pull from his hand, Yuu was on her feet. Her eyes locked into his face. Even though tainted, it was still pleasant for her and made her feel a bit relieve that such creature can display a sweet smile. Okay, so maybe he won't hurt her. Maybe she was just over reacting. "Henko? Shapeshifter?" she repeated, her voice trailed off. So that explains everything. Although some parts lacking, it made the situation more clearly for Yuu. As things take time for her shocked brain cells to process these things, Yuu remained silent as she continued to listen to the young man's story. She looked and looked at his face, realizing she have never seen him before. Little sister? Safe? So maybe that's why he never seen this man around. He was hiding; hiding his true self to people that might hurt them if others knew.

The young man turned around and started walking away but stopping after a few steps away from her. She noticed he was shaking. No. Yuu won't tell. Yuu promised it will be a secret. But how would she let him know? She was not the kind to take initiative. She cannot approach him. She was shy. She was afraid. If Hiroki was here. Yes! That's right. If it was Hiroki, he will surely bring out his brightest smile to make him feel his secret is safe. Yuu promised she'd learn from Hiroki and that she will apply what she learned on the first chance she'll ever get to befriend someone. With all the courage she has left, Yuu's feet moved on its own towards the young man. She gently tapped his shoulders. She was right, he was shaking. She can feel it. She then moved in front of him, wearing the brightest smile she could, Yuu reassured him, "Your secret is safe with me, nekochan".

Chase sighed and tried to step forth, but when he suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder he was about to turn, but the girl suddenly was in front of him. He jerked back a bit, but otherwise didn't move. She said his secret was safe, and he let out a relieved sigh. "Thanks..." He stated softly. Then he held out his hand. "Chase." He introduced himself. He waited for her response. Knowing she wouldn't tell eased him, but he was still tense. He wasn't too social after all, so best to just try at least. He looked into her eyes, a silent gesture. He strives off kindness and generosity. It was a motto of his, to always treat people well. He really felt a bit okay now.

He looked her over, seeing her interesting getup. It was... kinda cute. he blushed a bit, knowing he would never admit that out loud. At least, not currently. He could tell already that she would probably make a good friend. At least, that's the vibe he got from her. Though he could be wrong. For all he knew she was a homicidal serial killer who fed her dead victims to her giant tarantula pet. Though he was pretty sure that was the most unlikely of her. He hoped she didn't feed dead victims to giant tarantulas at least.
